The journey of our solar system spiraling through the Milky Way, marks a new beginning at Winter Solstice for everyone. The Sagittarius New Moon cycle of 12/13/12, holds various celebrations of a return to light. This is the last new moon of 2012. It is one of the most meaningful in your lifetime, whether you are consciously aware of it or not. 

On the New Moon, Uranus stations direct in the sign of Aries to attune you to higher octaves of thinking and Self awareness. Two days later, Venus enters Sagittarius to aim for values of expansiveness, faith in the laws of nature (not your personal law), and optimism. 

Winter Solstice, 12/21/12, is the ending of the Mayan Calendar, and marks a new beginning. Saturn traveling through the sign of Scorpio, represents “the time is now”, as well as limitations and the consciousness of society. Through this sign, he tests your awareness of time, traditions, and ability to remember with any ending there is rebirth and renewal in endless spirals of becoming. 

Accepting the differences of background in others is suggested by the Sabian symbols in this cycle. Harshness or projecting your own lack of responsibility onto others is wounding. Making commitments to look at your own poop, to heal and forgive yourself and others brings the light you seek. The Hunt - Scorpio New Moon
and Solar Eclipse 11/13/12
Sometimes getting your needs met is like a duck hunt. Gear up. Get up at ungodly hours of the day in all kinds of weather. All this, to get duck almandine at the family dinner. If you are vegan, then substitute tofu. In any case, this image is what an entrepreneur or an employee goes through. This is what you go through to get a job. This is what you go through to go shopping at Costco during busy hours. This is you in Scorpio energy, dealing with getting what you need and don’t yet have.     

How do you ask for your needs? What do you put yourself through to do so and is it time to re-evaluate? Scorpio New Moon and especially Saturn in Scorpio during the next couple years will give you practice in this investigation. How do you ask for a loan, sex, a pat on the back, power, prestige, a car, or whatever? The high end to aim for is direct and honest truth with no strings attached. The shadow is push and shove, manipulation and strings. “I’ll love you if…” 

The hunt and the ability to rebirth like a phoenix will require more effort during the next couple years with Saturn spinning through the sign of Scorpio. The strong and practiced in these areas are rewarded and the weaker will be pruned away. Your best aim is to develop emotional and psychological resilience and honesty. Shed baggage, minimize your debt ratio, clean up karmic debt and otherwise. This means exercising discipline in thinking long term too. It also means accepting death and rebirth cycles.

Precarious Balance - New Moon in Libra

10/15/12

Mindfully speaking, Libra energy is about finding life in the middle. Use the balancing scales of Libra energy to practice not living in the past, not living in the future but, live in the balance of the present.  
Stay in the present moment with each individual. Avoid conversing about relived past wounds or daydreaming of future encounters, or engaging in conversations of hearsay. Stay open and present. Esoteric astrology calls this, ‘right relationship’. 

There are other balancing challenges in life as well. Finding balance between material and spiritual needs is not always easy. Strive to maintain a balanced quality (not quantity) of life. In this way you strengthen what you sincerely have to offer your relationships. Relationship is also what Libra is about.

The planet Saturn is infusing this New Moon in Libra with pragmatism and no time for fluff. This cycle has its challenges and gifts for you to practice living life in the middle of the present. The Sun sweeps over Saturn in Scorpio with a conjunction 10/25/12, to energize karmic debt or reward, serious commitments, and eliminations. 

Mercury in Scorpio is conjunct the North Node on 10/25/12 to deliver the news. Make decisions or travel plans before the Full Moon on 10/29/12. After that, you can expect changes of thought and plans so, be flexible and stay in balance. Mercury, will be in its shadow after the Full Moon and preparing to turn retrograde on 11/6/12 through 11/26/12. During this period, the Sun will be conjunct Mercury retrograde 11/17/12, in the emotional water sign of Scorpio. 

This conjunction day will override the retrograde to show you the backwater in your life and begin to give you the information to do something about it. This day is a crack in the mental brick wall that will allow you to see the light of new information you will need to go forward.   

Health wise, Libra rules the kidneys that maintain the acid and alkaline balance in your body. Nourish your body with plenty of water and alkalizing foods at this time (sugar is not alkalizing-sorry). Living an unbalanced life creates an acidic body. Parsley tea is nourishing to the kidneys and helps to break down crystalized acids. Fresh air and breathing exercises (go for a brisk walk) help to alkalize the blood.  

Overall, this cycle is about the practice of right relationship. Remember that everyone in your life is a mirror of some sort to your own strengths or fur balls. Be present. Maintain balance. Play nice. After the Full Moon, double check your documents, ideas and communications. Be patient with delays and practice living your life in balance, in body, mind, and spirit.

Virgo New Moon

This Virgo New Moon cycle is a time to get grounded, sort things out, do your work at hand, get efficient and pay attention to inner refinements. Ask yourself, how you can serve better? Fault finding or correcting others is probably not listed in your dharma job description. Use this cycle to become whole, unto your ‘Self’. Keep a heartfelt simplicity and don’t get caught up in the glamor of crisis.

Energy shifts will be felt in this period. Jupiter in Gemini will station retrograde 10/4/12. The outer growth in your network connections will recede to inner growth until January when Jupiter stations direct. Hone the skill of mindfulness by responding to things as they are and not what you believe or believed. Nurture the mind by removing mental chaos and focus on the realizations you have made thus far. Further opportunities in contacts, thoughts, travels or education will come later in January. Use Virgo energy to sort and streamline errands, communications and written documents for now.

Mojo and Rainbows
Leo New Moon - 8/17/12

Like breaking light after a long storm, the appearance of a rainbow brings a feeling of relief and blessing. Some people are like rainbows too when they enter a room. In the case of this Leo New Moon cycle, it is the perfect time to evoke a feeling of relief, blessing, inspiration and light within your Self. Whatever your inner light amperage, it will shine out to others based on where your dial is at. It is a time to shine, from within your Self first.

Neptune is opposing the Leo New Moon and both events are square the Moon’s nodal axis. This influence may inspire random acts of generosity without expecting much in return, other than love. This cycle can soften arrogance with the Neptunian air brush. Confusion, chaos and low levels of life force will thwart the ego until surrendered to a higher purpose.

You will have all the energy you need when divinely inspired. Otherwise, you will need more sleep or retreat time to take in the ethereal downloads. In the energy of Leo, you are challenged to integrate new levels of compassion, awareness, sensitivity, understanding and coming from the heart, for yourself and others. New Moon in Cancer 7/18/12

Mixed Emotions
Creative concoctions, family concerns, security, photographs and memories are all up for examination during a watery New Moon cycle in the sign of Cancer. Emotional tides will be higher than usual, culminating by the upcoming full moon 8/1/12. This tests your ability to keep a clear mind and open heart. Several factors are at play for the weeks ahead.

Mercury retrograde in the sign of Leo correlates with re-examining the attitudes you have towards leadership, children, ability to think spontaneously, prideful speech, gambles, romantic overtures or finding joy in life no matter what.

Gemini New Moon

Keep it Light


Keep it ‘Light.’ Like the first singing robin of the morning (or speaking in your case), you might want to focus on communicating the potential rainbows of ‘Light’ in your days ahead and celebrate Summer Solstice. Planetary reflections follow.


This Gemini New Moon is in its later degrees. This represents the use of a more refined mind. You are encouraged to explore new ideas and networks while staying responsible and pragmatic due to a trine from Mr. Reality Check Saturn in the sign of Libra.


The need for ‘Light’ is due to a trine from ego denying Neptune in Pisces. This aspect also teaches the difference between communicating lies, unconscious behavior, imagined fears, compared to Grace, inner peace and genuine divine inspiration for the good of all. Remember that one vision, or act of forgiveness and kindness, affects hundreds in the long run. It begins with you and your choice. Gemini New Moon and Solar Eclipse 5/20/12

What is, what it is?

Imagine you are in a glass bottom boat, cruising through your mind. What do you notice? What do you got going in there? Are you keeping it light, fresh and flexible or tight, too much left or right brained, flighty, or non-committal? Is what you think, what it really is? 


This New Moon in Gemini accentuates your mind, communication, siblings, short distant travels such as errands, and networking. The accompanying solar eclipse insures new dimensions of reality are to be explored. The air sign of Gemini, also encourages aerating to prevent you from hardening or stagnating. 


Get used to this need of mindfulness because the planet of increase, Jupiter, enters the sign of Gemini, 6/11/12 and will remain there for a year.


Jupiter will bring opportunities, growth and magnification through the lens of Gemini in whatever house you have ruled by this air sign. This will be especially beneficial to those of you with progressed or natal Gemini Sun, Moon or rising. For the next year, everybody will be getting to practice good Gemini skills.

Before you go to bed at night, communicate (Gemini) with your higher self to give you a dream that will help you. Body Electrical Storm – New Moon in Taurus

Like an electrical storm, the recent pace has been fast and furious as you bravely followed your instincts with one move to the next. ‘Now,’ is the New Moon cycle of Taurus. The sign of the bull will help you dial it back a few clicks. Ground in the new reference point of your life with earth wisdom. 

Discharging the strain and static that builds up, like a drain wire or lightning bolt grounding in the earth, is important for your well-being. Leave behind the anxiety of separation from what used to be by grounding in the acceptance of your body wisdom and the ‘now’. 

Grounding is easy. Say hello to your feet. Take your shoes off and stand barefoot on the grass or dirt while giving thanks to your body as it is. Nourish your body, (which does not include sweets and saturated fats that Taurus loves). Attend to your sense of smell, taste, sight, sound, and touch. Get a massage. Use aromatherapy. Listen to music that is soothing rather than agitating. When sitting, keep both feet on the ground rather than crossing them. Enhance your well-being with the beauty of nature. Enjoy the sensuality of your body.

Good Taurus practices include attending to the maintenance of your accumulations, land, and your ‘Self’ worth. This is the window of opportunity to make any adjustments in these areas. Heed your personal finances, lower jaw, thyroid (with the correct balance of iodine for proper function), and neck area. You will gain benefit to include gentle neck stretches during your day. Ground your body while keeping sight of your highest potential.

You made it through the recent Mars and Mercury retrograde. You re-evaluated your direction and your motives along with what and how you communicate them. Now, there is one more upcoming personal planet retrograde. 

Venus, the ruler of Taurus and Libra will station retrograde on May 15, 2012 until June 27, 2012 in the sign of Gemini. Relationships, desires, values, and money are all re-shuffling.   

This period is best for reviewing personal finances, re-finances, and re-establishing or re-writing relationship contracts. This is the opportunity to review your values and wisely consider new desires based on keeping it simple (Taurus), being grounded (also Taurus), and walking in beauty while having a balanced heart (Libra). Finances for various reasons may be tight at this time until after 6/27/12. 

Gemini rules the lungs while Venus rules your heart chakra. Breathe deeply and keep your heart center open while things come at you in twos (Gemini twins).

The pioneering and impulsive energy of this New Moon encourages greater courage and vitality, especially after Mars the ruler of Aries stations direct on April 13th.


A square aspect from Pluto in Capricorn at the New Moon will require some elimination along with credentialed due process, and sustainability in all new endeavors. New exercise programs, new business procedures or businesses, new relationships or new occupations need some final touches with Mercury still being retrograde in Aries at this New Moon cycle.

Pisces New Moon - Body/Mind Alchemy

Pisces says, “Dare to imagine.”  Imagine you are taking a walk in nature.  You notice fragmented colorful logs and portions of petrified wood, glistening on top of pure white sand in the desert sunlight.  It is beautiful here and you feel your chest is filling with warmth and light while you lovingly gaze at the many colors of alchemy.  Your heart fills with light and you feel a state of grace from seeing these ornaments of nature.            

You have just affected your physical body’s biosphere and enhanced your immune system from imagining the above experience.  You can do the opposite effect to your body’s immune system by imagining worse.

Your body is an extension of your brain and holds fragments of history, like petrified wood.  Meditation, yoga, dream work, psychotherapy, sound therapy, body and energy work, and expressive arts therapies are a few ways of tapping into the records secluded in your body-mind and to keep the flow going. 

This Pisces New Moon encourages you to view your personal records of body alchemy to gain insights.  The past returns to the present and synchronistic events are the norm.  The right brain is your mantra.  Information is less rational or controlled.  Utilize this time of the visionary.
